Seed banks and biodiversity conservation
In 2021, El Celler de Can Roca launched its 'Sowing the Future' project to encourage reflection on the importance of preserving biodiversity and warn of the disappearance of natural resources. It has done this through a documentary with BBVA that highlights the alarming loss of plant diversity. To do this, the Roca brothers visited the Svalbard World Seed Bank, which functions like a bank's safe-deposit box.
In this talk, we learn how this seed bank works and why it is so important.
