She is Spain's first and only Master of Wine, combining technical excellence with an educational and sustainable vision that inspires new generations of wine and sake professionals.
Almudena Alberca MW was the first — and remains the only — woman in Spain to obtain the title of Master of Wine. She has over 20 years' experience in winemaking, consulting and education, and has worked in prestigious wineries and international markets. She has led technical teams, created award-winning wines, and promoted sustainability in various Spanish wine regions.
A WSET-certified educator, she is a strong advocate of structured wine training and global recognition. She teaches sommeliers and oenologists around the world, judges international competitions and currently serves as Regional Chair for Spain in the Decanter World Wine Awards. She is also passionate about sake.
