Innovative and passionate, Maçanita is known for his rebellious approach to winemaking.

Born in Lisbon, with Azorean and Alentejo roots, he began his career in the world of wine in 2000, producing his first reference at the age of 23.

Antônio Maçanita produces wines in four different regions of Portugal: Açores, Alentejo, Douro and Porto Santo. He is the founder of projects such as Azores Wine Company, Fitapreta and Maçanita Vinhos, the latter created with his sister Joana. His philosophy focuses on the recovery of historical varieties, the appreciation of terroir and the unique characteristics of each region.

Known for his non-conformism, rebellious and provocative character, Maçanita constantly seeks to challenge traditional winemaking methods. He has won several awards, including the 21st Generation Winemaker Trophy, and was named Producer of the Year by Revista de Vinhos.
