Andrés Mármol

Pastry chef and owner of La Gloria de Andrés Mármol (El Palmar, Murcia)

After finishing secondary school, he decided to enter the world of confectionery. He started out in the Adolfo bakery in El Palmar and, as there were no specialised bakeries in those days, his first job was cleaning, where he learnt all about organisation, work and discipline from the bottom up.

He went on to work in three other bakeries and was also a "visitor" selling pastries until 1988, when he opened his own bakery on La Gloria Street in El Palmar.

Throughout his 57-year career, he has won numerous awards, including the best chocolate cake in Spain in the World Chocolate Masters competition in 2011, the best meat cake in the Region of Murcia in 2016...
