Christian Escribà
Pastry chef at Pastelería Escribà (Barcelona, Spain)
Born in 1962, Christian Escribà is known for being the fourth generation of a legendary family of Barcelona pastry chefs who set up shop on Barcelona's Gran Vía in 1906. The Escribà patisserie was founded on 25 July and, after more than a hundred years of dedication to the art of pastry-making, has become a historic Barcelona institution.
With his father Antoni Escribà, a great master chocolatier, as a reference, Escribà has developed his culinary career between the cities of Paris and Barcelona. His creations aim to convey emotions through pastry.
His talent has been recognised by the Spanish Academy of Gastronomy, which awarded him the title of Best Pastry Chef in Spain. Escribà is also a member of the Academie Culinaire de France and an ambassador for the world's leading Swiss chocolate company, Chocovic.
He has written the recipe books Escribà: El arte de convertir la pastelería en ilusión and La cocina de Peter Pan, and collaborated with the author Sílvia Tarragó Castrillón on El obrador de los prodigios.
