Dabiz Muñoz

Madrid's only three-starred chef, the enfant terrible of Spanish gastronomy, is back at a gastronomy congress.

Born in Madrid in 1980, Dabiz Muñoz is one of the leading exponents of Spanish catering. Consolidated by his Diverxo restaurant with its three stars (the only one in Madrid with this maximum rating), Muñoz is relentless in his desire to create recipes, which he does not even bother to classify or index, and also new concepts. In recent years he has added to his current StreetXo Madrid and the now defunct Streetxo in London, with Goxo Barcelona and a delivery service - Goxo - also diversified with a foodtruck.

Before he met with success, Muñoz trained in Viridiana (chef Abraham García is Dabiz's culinary "father") and Chantarella in Madrid, and starred restaurants in London such as Orrery, Hakassan, Nobu or Nahm. Among other awards, Muñoz was Madrid Fusión 2008's Revelation Chef, he won the National Gastronomy Prize for Best Kitchen Chef in 2009, he was Best European Chef 2014, and won the 2014 “Prix du Chef de l´Avenir”.

After years of hovering close to the number one spot, in 2021 he finally made top of the list in “The Best Chef Awards”, the same year in which the prestigious French guide La Liste awarded him its Innovation Prize.
